      On October 11, the eighth Pan Pearl River Delta regional water development cooperation conference was held in Guangzhou. Jiang Xuguang, Vice Minister of the Ministry of water resources, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Ye Zhenqin, member of the Standing Committee of Guangdong Provincial Committee, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

      Jiang Xuguang fully affirmed the remarkable achievements of the cooperation mechanism of regional water conservancy development in the Pan Pearl River Delta, and put forward the requirements for firmly grasping the new situation and new requirements of regional water conservancy reform and development, comprehensively implementing the general tone of water conservancy reform and development, and promoting the cooperation of regional water conservancy development in the Pan Pearl River Delta to a new level. 

      Jiang Xuguang stressed that it is necessary to accurately grasp the strategic deployment of the construction of the Great Bay area of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, do a good job in the water security work of the Great Bay area of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao with high standards and quality, keep abreast of the new requirements for River protection and governance, and enhance the systematization, integrity and coordination of regional river protection and governance. It is necessary to comprehensively implement the tasks of reinforcing the weaknesses and strengthening the supervision, especially focus on the system and mechanism. In order to consolidate and expand the achievements of water control, it is necessary to further enrich the ideas of water conservancy development in river basins and regions, explore the establishment of regular consultation and coordination mechanism among the leaders of water administration departments in the Pan Pearl River Delta region. 

      In the spirit of pragmatism, academician Zhang Jianyun of the Chinese Academy of engineering and experts from the national development and Reform Commission were invited to make a report on the construction and water security of the Great Bay area of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. The "9+2" parties have carried out the important speech of general secretary Xi Jinping in the Symposium on ecological protection and high quality development of the the Yellow River River Basin. The main theme of the reform is to implement the general keynote of water reform and development. We have exchanged good experiences and good practices. The meeting adopted and jointly signed the 8th Pan Pearl River Delta regional water development cooperation action initiative.

      Relevant departments and bureaus of the Ministry of water resources, Pearl River Water Conservancy Commission, representatives of relevant water administration departments of Yunnan, Guizhou, Guangxi, Guangdong, Hunan, Jiangxi, Fujian, Hainan, Sichuan, Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions, and Pearl River Navigation Administration of the Ministry of transport attended the meeting.
