The basic principle of the flip gate made by Jiangsu Fangyang Machinery and Electrical Equipment Co., Ltd. is now the most widely used flip gate, namely hydraulic automatic flip gate. Its working principle is lever balance and rotation. Specifically, the hydraulic automatic flip gate uses the balance of hydraulic force and gate weight to achieve the purpose of regulating water level by adding a damping feedback system. When the upstream water level rises, the gate gradually opens and discharges around the "horizontal axis". On the contrary, when the upstream water level falls, the gate gradually closes and stores water, so that the upstream water level remains within the design requirements. For example, the roller connecting rod type turning gate is a kind of double fulcrum gate with connecting rod. It consists of panel, leg, pier, roller, connecting rod and other components. According to the change of gate water level, the opening and closing of the gate are automatically controlled by hydraulic action. When the upstream inflow increases, the upstream water level of the gate rises, and the moment of hydrodynamic pressure to the fulcrum is greater than that of the gate weight and various dampers to the fulcrum, the gate opens automatically to a certain inclination angle until the moment of hydrodynamic pressure to the fulcrum is equal to the moment of the fulcrum of the gate weight and reaches a new balance under the flow. When the flow rate remains unchanged, the opening angle also remains unchanged. When the upstream flow decreases to a certain extent, the moment of the weight of the gate to the fulcrum is greater than that of the hydrodynamic pressure and various dampers to the fulcrum, the hydraulic automatic turning gate can turn back to a certain inclination angle by itself, thus reaching a new balance under the flow.
